Welcome to the World of Blogging

Welcome to a new year, new tools and new technology. In this course you will be introduced to the world of Weblogs, or Blogs. Blogs are on-line journals that allow not just your teacher to read what you have written, but also your classmates, students in other classes you have never even met and people who may live on the other side of the world!

To begin, take a look at some blogs students in Venezuela who are studying Architecture and Urban Planning made by clicking here. Many of them wrote about Montreal, a city that is far away for them. You might also want to see what some of your colleagues did a little closer to home by clicking here.

Hi, me again,

Thanks for linking to my students' blogs :-) Everybody is welcome to leave messages, that will encourage my students once the course is over. They enjoy reading posts from people all over the world!
Btw, in my next course, starting on Sep. 20, my architecture and urban planning students will do podcasting. First, I will ask native and non-native speakers of English all over the world to record some architectural or urban planning texts as pre-reading activities for the students, then, they will record their own and I will post them to a blog for everybody to hear and give feedback. At the end of the trimester, I will invite the contributors to a live informal gathering with my students via a virtual room.
Any takers?
hugs,
Dafne

Hello Jane and Dafne,

just a note to tell you I was here and would like to follow how you students are working with blogs and podcasting.

I wish to record some information and find photos about the City hall in Copenhagen, this year celebrating its 100 year jubilee. It is an extraorinary building with images and sculptures all over, symbolising the Nordic and Danish history and nature.

youre,

Sus in Farum, Denmark
